Position Scope:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, the A&D Specialist will focus on fostering relationships with top Architecture and Design (A&D) firms across Ontario but not only. This role involves creating awareness and driving demand for Nuovo Surfaces products within the A&D community. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Development Managers to uncover new business opportunities and strategically position Nuovo Surfaces as the preferred choice for specified projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to build relationships with key architecture and design firms in the GTA
  • Drive Nuovo Surfaces’ product specifications with influential A&D firms and professionals on significant projects to become a leader in this sector
  • Conduct product knowledge sessions, Lunch & Learns, and presentations to establish credibility and trust within the A&D community
  • Increase market awareness of Nuovo Surfaces by strategically placing merchandising tools in A&D libraries
  • Achieve growth targets by promoting Nuovo Surfaces as the top choice for specified projects
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with top A&D firms, ensuring Nuovo Surfaces’ presence in relevant projects
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to showcase products through various marketing initiatives and promotional events
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to address client needs and transform ideas into tangible product solutions, aligning with organizational objectives
  • Analyze and leverage business and financial data to make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently
  • Identify and address root causes of challenges, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Understand customer needs, crafting and executing sales and marketing strategies to achieve timely deliverables and growth
  • Represent Nuovo Surfaces at industry events, trade shows, and associations, providing insights on market trends and delivering presentations to potential clients
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle and ensure effective CRM (Salesforce) usage to track pipeline and activity
  • Uphold ethical conduct and professionalism in all interactions with clients and partners
  • Stay current with industry trends and foster connections with strategic players at all levels to drive growth and market penetration

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field; an MBA is a strong asset
  • 3–5 years of experience in business development within the A&D sector
  • Previous experience with CRM systems, preferably HubSpot
  • Knowledge and experience in the tile and slab industry is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to business development
  • Proven track record in influencing and managing projects, demonstrating expertise in business development, sales, marketing, and business analysis
  • Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to close deals and grow business partnerships
  • High level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and commitment to selling high-value products
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong business acumen and a results-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel to client locations and attend industry-related conferences (50%+ travel required)
